open mics and concerts:

• First Saturday of the month: Open Mic coffeehouse at the Dancing Bean in Chemainus. This is at the end of the same street where I live, so I make sure not to miss it. It’s a popular event; a big reason for that (aside from the variety of excellent entertainment) is the host band, the Flying Accusations.
• First Thursday of the month: Singer-Songwriter circle at the Mermaid’s Mug in Nanaimo. This is not specifically a performance per se; it’s a circle of songwriters sharing together, but guests and audience members are always welcome. It’s a great opportunity for me to get to know other Island singer-songwriters’ work and to share gifts.
• Second Saturday of the month: All-acoustic Open Mic at the Roxie on Gabriola, hosted by Penny Sidor. Also a great time, and one I try not to miss, though it’s not exactly down the street from me.
• I can be found busking in Duncan and Nanaimo on the waterfront on occasion as well. Call 709-4186 to book me for a private party or house concert!
