You will have noticed that things have stalled with the novel. This is a temporary situation, and only to be expected. Summer here is insanely busy, even frantic, with activity; I will (I promise!) return to help Sylvie complete her story by fall at the very latest, and sooner if possible. I will also check in occasionally to add bits of writing as I feel moved to.

I joined a writer’s blog, seems like a good group. I’ve been feeling the isolation over here in my little TICP world. They were calling for submissions to an anthology, and the timing seemed right to submit my latest creation–the February 100-words experiment, which I’ve decided to title “Maggie May I”.

I know, I know, it’s cute. Maybe too cute. But it called to me. And cute isn’t all bad, is it?

Slowly and tentatively, I extend my tendrils out into the blogosphere, which, while it seems like an abstraction to some part of my brain, is actually made of real people–actual flesh and blood human beings who type their words with real fingers. There is no abstraction. This is the real world, honey. Whoo-hoo…

I couldn’t figure out a way to join the blogosphere easily from here… so I decided to start up a blogspot blog! Sooo… from now on, every post to this blog will also be posted over there. But if you want to see what I’ve written before today, you’ll have to come here… also if you want to see my cool header photo. Um… here, there… this is confusing, since this is going to both places. .

Ahem. Okay. I started this blog on New Year’s Day, 2006. And this blog on January 7, 2006. If you are on the blogspot blog and you want to see what I wrote during the previous 6 days, you’ll have to go to this blog.

I prefer this blog because it has a much more configurable template. And it’s my own domain. I live here. So once you get to know me, if you want to come back, come here. Ok?

This marks the official launch of my creative writing blog. Still, it’s pretty much under wraps, but I have found a name I kind of like (subject to change) and it’s New Year’s Day, a good time for beginnings.
