Comox Valley September astro-forecast
I’ve started writing a horoscope column for the Island Word, and somebody asked me if it was available online, and it wasn’t. So I thought maybe I’d just post it on my blog. It also contains a plug for my upcoming classes.
I asked Danny (the editor) for permission to post it here, and he said yes; he also suggested that I could upload it to their website later in the month. I’ll let y’all know when that happens.
It’s from a chart generated specifically for Courtenay, but it should be applicable to anywhere in this time zone.
Disclaimer: Do not use this horoscope column to make major life decisions! That’s what a full reading is for!
Down-to-Earth Astrology
by Phoenix Wolf-Ray
from The Island Word Sept. edition
How often have you wished that life came with a user manual? Well, guess what–it does! A horoscope column like this one is fun to write and (one hopes) read, but sun-sign horoscopes are to astrology what the alphabet is to English. The natal chart, on the other hand, is your personal map, blueprint and how-to guide for actualization.
For example, to get your feet on the ground, you have to know where your personal ‘ground’ is. Are you most effectively embodied in creative activity or in quiet contemplation? What healing modality, exercise regimen or dietary style suits you best?
Each body has its own style and unique needs, all depending on the sign and house position of Earth. That’s only one element among twelve to consider.
Another is the rising sign, your window onto the world, coloured your own shade of personality. This determines how the world looks and feels to you. Everyone has their own ‘colour;’ their own tiny slice in the universal truth pie. Tiny or not, each part is crucial to the integrity of the whole. We can never be homogenous, we are utterly unique.
In these times of unusually rapid and crucial change, we are called to discover what God is saying to us so that we may choose correctly in the direction of evolution.

The Earth sign for each Sun sign is shown in parentheses. Read both for the fullest picture:
Aries (Libra): Admit it, Aries. You’re scared. You’re standing on a precipice over the vast unknown, and you’ve never felt so vulnerable. It’s a blessing you thrive on challenge!
Taurus (Scorpio): You feel a bit wispy this month, Taurus. The dream world is thinning your boundaries and you’re unaccustomedly aware of the illusory nature of reality. Stand your ground.
Gemini (Sagittarius): The past is seeping into the present in a very entertaining way this month, Gemini. There are emotions involved; beware dismissing them, but do enjoy the ride.
Cancer (Capricorn): You’ve risen from your hiding places, Cancer, floating high like the moon in winter. You see it all, and you feel it too. You may be compelled to act daringly. Trust yourself.
Leo (Aquarius): You’re staying home this month, Leo; you’ve got work to do. It’s a long-term project that you feel like devoting time to now; the results in the end will be well worth it.
Virgo (Pisces): You feel jostled by the crowd this month, Virgo. If only you could get some space to be productive; you have a sense of urgency but distraction is unavoidable. Cultivate faith.
Libra (Aries): Communication is key this month, Libra. You don’t need to find words, though, for nuance can be conveyed through avenues of body language and emotion. Make eye contact.
Scorpio (Taurus): You feel powerless this month, Scorpio. Everything depends on others while your job is behind the scenes. The situation can benefit you if you focus and commit.
Sagittarius (Gemini): Your vision seems clear this month, Sagittarius, but ideals and necessity have you split down the middle. You need to make decisions; consult guidance. Humility never hurt.
Capricorn (Cancer): Events are taking on a cosmic scope that makes you uncomfortable, Capricorn. You like things to make practical sense; this does not. Expand your view of reality.
Aquarius (Leo): You are the battleground this month, Aquarius. You call the shots, but you are also making them. Take care with your aim; the wrong people may get hurt. Be cautious.
Pisces (Virgo): The strange slice of reality you inhabit is becoming more real, Pisces. Soon everybody will see what you see, and that might scare them. Don’t stop, though; this shift needs to happen.

Hmm…does this mean that all Cancer people will be influenced by the sign of Capricorn at this particular time? And in turn, Capricorn people will be influenced by the sign of Cancer?

Hi Mom… it means that Cancer people *are* Capricorn people (ie, somebody with a Cancer Sun will have a Capricorn Earth), while Capricorn Sun people will have a Cancer Earth. So reading both will help.
Not that I believe in horoscope columns
. They’re just a gateway drug to the real thing.
