The feel of a warm furry body purring in my lap sends me into heart ecstasies. Cynics claim that animals ally themselves with humans only for survival self-interest, yet their love, the delicious outpouring of affection lavished by our pets, cats who meow, rub and purr, curl up cuddled in bliss our arms, dogs who lick, wriggle and wag, communicating intense love and friendliness, this is a sweet and true affirmation of the connectedness of all life, proof of the truth of love. It is a strange paradox, for I love them, yet feel strangely guilty about receiving their love.
